Providing job opportunities for which youth are suited, educated and passionate about. (I think lots of health/stress/crime challenges caused by lack of suitable employment) |

Increased use and abuse of alcohol and drugs (particularly in youth less than eighteen years of age) |

There are a number of issues for youth, access to health services and housing are two that concern me. |
Continue to listen to what young people are saying, and work towards addressing those needs. |
|
Christine Tuffnell |
Stress in school or relationships, use of alcohol and drugs, and poor nutrition are all contributing factors to mental health problems. |
If elected, what I would do about it; |

Boredom and drug abuse. Cannabis loses motivation, alcohol and stimulants rob youth of their ability to reach full potential |
I would encourage youth to look after their health, enjoy life, have fun, keep fit and care for others |

Ruth Vause |
Lifestyles issues for our youngsters Particular risk activities ie Motor vehicle accidents, access to alcohol and drugs and STDs. |
I would like to see social workers and health workers in our secondary and intermediate schools. I believe the PHO needs to address these access issues for young people - ie accessing medical and social services coupled with lifestyle education |
