Governance Team

  • Rebecca Mason - Chairperson

    Rebecca is the current Chair of the Health Action Trust, Deputy Chair of te Runanga o Ngāti Kuia, Co-Chair of the PHARMAC Māori Advisory Rōpū, and a Trustee of the Bishop Suter Trust. In addition she is Tumuaki / Principal of her Whakatū based business Meihana Consulting, a Chartered Accountant, member of the Institute of Directors, and an Accredited Partnership Broker with the Partnership Brokers Association.

    Rebecca has worked for major corporations and government departments in Aotearoa and London across several sectors. She has led company-wide strategic planning processes, has international commercial and pricing experience, and has brokered international collaborations.

  • Marty Logan - Deputy Chair

    Marty is a partner at Pitt & Moore Lawyers in Nelson. He joined the Health Action Trust in October 2021 as a Trustee and was elected as Deputy Chair soon after.

  • Ben Norquay - Board Treasurer

    Ben joined Health Action Trust in 2022. With a deep respect for peer-led support, mental health, and governance, he is eager to contribute to this dynamic and thriving organization. Drawing from his background in accounting, technology, and other treasury roles, Ben is poised to bring valuable experience and skills to the team.

  • Lydia Stallard - Trustee

    Lydia Stallard joined the Board in 2022. Lydia is a psychologist with over ten years’ experience working in the health promotion and mental health sector in both the UK and across New Zealand. Throughout her career Lydia has worked in numerous charitable organisations and in primary care, both in clinical roles and senior management positions. She has particular relevant experience and a keen interest in risk management and clinical governance/leadership, as well as ensuring equity of access.

    Lydia currently runs her own private psychology practice and established a multidisciplinary healthcare clinic in 2022, with a focus on parental and perinatal mental health and well-being. Having grown up in Nelson herself, Lydia has strong ties to the Whakatū community and enjoys spending time with whānau, exploring the beautiful national parks and singing in her five-women-one-man vocal folky pop group.

  • Belinda Wheatley - Trustee

    Belinda is a highly experienced manager with project, people and operations management experience. With a background in human resources and change management, and MBA from the University of Edinburgh, she has led major projects at Nelson Marlborough Health from 2012 - 2021 and was previously Director at People Consulting Services and Executive Consultant at Capgemini (formerly Capgemini Ernst & Young) in the United Kingdom.

    Having worked in the health sector for more than ten years, Belinda currently works as a Project Manager on a significant capital investment project. With a passion for maternal and youth mental health, strategic vision and leadership, and a strong network within our community, Belinda has joined the Health Action Trust Board to apply her skills and experience and serve the community.

  • Brian Muldoon - Trustee

    Brian is the consumer advisor member of the Health Action Trust Board.

    He has both personal experience of mental illness and of working in the NGO sector in a Peer Support organisation.

    Brian was a former registered nurse in the Mental Health and Elder Care.

    “I am pleased to be a member of the Trust Board of an organisation that is doing such inspirational work in mental health peer support” - Brian.

  • Angela Ricker - Trustee

    As a strategic communications and public relations consultant for the last ten years, Angela worked on several high-profile projects and for some of Nelson Tasman’s most recognised organisations. She retired in 2023 and enjoys a slower pace of life and volunteer governance roles.

    After emigrating to Nelson from the United States in 2006, Angela joined the communications team at Nelson City Council for eight years, including as Communications Manager for three. As part of that role, she served as the region’s Public Information Manager for Nelson Tasman Civil Defence.

    Non-profit work is where Angela’s heart is. She co-founded and was the first employee of a statewide organisation in Colorado, USA. In New Zealand, Angela is a Trustee with the Fifeshire Foundation and a board member for RISE.
