Nikau Hauora Hub


A community hub offering peer support and advocacy services to those navigating mental health and addiction challenges.

We provide affordable daily meals and a safe, comfortable space for connection.

  • Peer Support & Advocacy
    We have peer support workers who can provide peer support and advocacy.

    Therapeutic Groups
    We have regular Alcohol and Other Drug peer led support groups. These are held every Tuesday and Thursday at 12pm in the hub.

    Activities and Outings
    We have a weekly activity programme including kai shopping trips, men’s and women’s groups, AOD support groups and more. If you would like us to add you to our mailing list please give us your email address.

    Kai
    We have a Kai programme at Nikau that provides affordable meals daily. The Kai programme also provides kitchen job opportunities for tangata whaiora who are looking to transition back into the work force or gain work experience in an understanding and supportive setting.

    We also have kai rescue available 3 times a week. Check our activities programme for the days and times.

    Student Counsellors
    Each year we have NMIT student counsellors offering free counselling sessions in the Nikau Hauora Hub. If you are in need of counselling please visit or contact us for more information.

  • Anyone is welcome at Nikau Hauora Hub. If you are looking for support, advocacy, kai or even just a cuppa and a chat, come and visit us.
